AEGEE, the European Students’ Forum, is one of Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary student organisations, AEGEE-Europe logostriving for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe. As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. Founded in 1985 in Paris, today “Association des États Généraux des Étudiants de l’Europe” or just AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13000 friends, present in 200 cities in 40 countries all over Europe.Through our activities, we empower students and young people in Europe to take an active role in society. We create a space for dialog and learning opportunities as well as act as their representative towards decision-makers. AEGEE strengthens mutual understanding among young Europeans and brings Europe closer to young people.

The network was founded in 1985 and operates on a European and a local level. The organisation is built around its central board called the Comité Directeur and by means of 200 local associations, called antennae.The main aims of AEGEE are:

  • Promoting a unified Europe without prejudices;
  • Striving to create an open and tolerant society for today and tomorrow;
  • Fostering democracy, human rights, tolerance, cross border cooperation, mobility and European dimension in education.
